Power Resistor Block

MTECH announces a family of air-cooled, programmable power loads for testing advanced power systems. The 150kW power load PRL-150K consists of 150 one-kilowatt resistors mounted in a rectangular array (Power Resistor Block) which can accommodate any number of series/parallel combinations with minimum added inductance. The resistors are mounted on a rigid frame with front and back access to resistor terminals. Interconnections are made manually by attaching standard bus bars supplied by MTECH. Each bus bar can carry up to 300 amps.

Application:

The power resistor block is ideal for test laboratories where a range of loads is required. The load can be configured with individual resistors ranging from 0.25 to 10 ohms. A variety of power levels is available. The load can be interfaced to a number of power cables (4/O is standard). Applications include testing of military power systems or green energy power systems such as those using solar, wind, and geothermal energies.
